About The Transformers
The Transformers are alien robots that can transform themselves into everyday vehicles such as a cars, trucks or even planes. The Transformers story originated in a Marvel comic book and then a hit TV series in the 1980s. The Robots in Disguise series brought the characters to children all over first the USA and Canada, and later the UK and the rest of the world.
Transformers: Robots in Disguise became one of the most successful and loved childrens TV series ever created in the USA, launching an equally successful toy franchise, including a Transformers Game. I’m not sure there’s a boy in America who didn’t at some point own one of the Autobots or Decepticons! What can be cooler than a robot that actually transforms into a vehicle?
Because of its excellent plots and characters and actually pretty intelligent storylines compared to most children’s TV shows, The Transformers Held has a place in the hearts of most boys as they’ve grown into adulthood. Which is why Transformer Costumes have so much appeal with adults today.
The third Transformer movie, Transformers 3, is due to come out in July 2011, so a little while to wait for the real fans I’m afraid! At the time of this post anyway. The director Michael Bay, has gone into pre-production, and is expected to produce another true Blockbuster. Keeping the world’s most popular genre alive in true form.
Although it’s too early to make guesses about the plot, it’s likely that Bumblebee will again be a main character, while the others are further developed. And if we’re lucky a few more will be introduced for our pleasure. The ultimate addition would of course be Unicron! The mega giant robot who is the size of a planet and is neither Transformer nor Decepticon. What a feat of movie making that would be! We can only cross our fingers and hope. What a Transformer Costume the Unicron would make.
The progress of special effects in movies have finally allowed a movie to be created that does the series justice. And of course in 2007 and 2009 the two smash-hit Transformer movies brought the characters to life in a way never seen before, and the new generation of children around the world have been introduced to the Autobots and the Decepticons.
The Transformers series and franchise will live long into the future and so will the costumes!
